This full-day tour offers an exciting hiking experience, where you’ll explore beautiful landscapes, lush valleys, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Humantay Mountain and its glacial lake. Along the way, you'll also get a glimpse of traditional Andean life and the unique culture of the region.

Itinerary

Tour Itinerary (Full Day):

4:00 amDeparture from Cusco:

The tour begins early in the morning with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco at around 4:00 am. Travelers will board a comfortable transport vehicle to begin the journey to Mollepata, a small town located about 2 hours away from Cusco. During the drive, you’ll pass through scenic landscapes of the Andes.

6:30 amBreakfast in Mollepata:

After the long drive, the group will stop in the town of Mollepata for a light breakfast. This is an opportunity to rest, enjoy some local food, and prepare for the trek to Humantay Lake.

7:00 amDeparture to Soraypampa:

After breakfast, travelers will continue the journey by vehicle for another 1.5 hours, reaching the Soraypampa trailhead. This area is the starting point for the hike to Humantay Lake. Along the way, you’ll get a first glimpse of the stunning mountains surrounding the lake.

8:30 amHike to Humantay Lake:

From Soraypampa, the group will begin the hike to Humantay Lake. The trek is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, and the route takes you through a stunning landscape of alpine meadows, rivers, and steep slopes. As you ascend, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the snow-capped Humantay Mountain. Along the way, you can enjoy the serenity of the Andean environment.

10:30 amArrival at Humantay Lake:

Once you reach the lake, travelers will be able to enjoy the breathtaking view of the turquoise glacial water surrounded by towering peaks. There will be time to take photos, relax, and appreciate the beauty of the location. The hike to the lake's viewpoint is a rewarding experience, offering visitors a chance to connect with nature in one of the most pristine environments in the Andes.

12:00 pmReturn Hike to Soraypampa:

After spending some time at Humantay Lake, the group will begin the descent back to Soraypampa. The descent usually takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the pace of the group.

1:30 pmLunch in Mollepata:

Once you return to Soraypampa, the group will travel back to Mollepata for lunch. You’ll be able to enjoy a delicious traditional Andean meal, giving you a chance to relax after the trek.

3:00 pmReturn to Cusco:

After lunch, travelers will board the transport vehicle for the journey back to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 pm.
